Towards the end of last year, we announced a multi-year partnership the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) and Soccer United Marketing (SUM), to become the official remittance services partner of Mexico’s Men’s and Women’s National Team in the United States. This marked the start of an exciting new chapter for Ria and football fans in North America.

As part of our ongoing partnership, we feature Raúl Jiménez in our latest campaign about staying connected, no matter the distance. Much like Raúl’s journey from Tepeji del Río to Europe, we highlight how a Ria money transfer is secure and can be the decisive move that keeps loved ones close. Check it out below:

As the official remittance services partner of Mexico’s Men’s and Women’s National Teams in the U.S., we’re proud to show up wherever fans come together, celebrating the moments, the memories, and the connections that travel far beyond the pitch.

Raúl Jiménez’s Journey and Ria’s Mission

In many aspects, Raúl Jiménez’s story mirrors that of migrants across the globe, often involving perseverance and adaptation. His journey of humble beginnings saw him go from growing up in a small town an hour away from Mexico City to playing—and scoring goals—in one of the biggest football leagues in the world.

Though now he is a symbol of pride for Mexican communities across the North American continent and beyond, it’s a status the striker couldn’t have achieved without the support of his family and loved ones back home, who have always been by his side.

“Greatness comes from the upbringing my parents gave me; from being so well brought up, I was able to become great,” he explained to the Premier League.

The Mexican’s family was also there for him when he suffered his life-threatening injury, which he described as “the hardest thing” he has had to face. But his wife, kids and wider family offered him unwavering support.

Now, 34 years old, he pays back that favor by being the best version of himself every time he takes to the field, despite some of the setbacks he’s had to face on it.

The relationship that Raúl Jiménez has fostered over the years—with those closest to him—is in perfect alignment with Ria’s goal of strengthening family connection and uniting football fans across borders, particularly between the United States and Mexico, no matter the distance.
