Ukraine Crisis – What we are doing

Our hearts are heavy as we witness the events taking place in Ukraine.

At Ria Money Transfer, we are closely monitoring the situation and are concerned for the safety and wellbeing of those affected and we stand in support and solidarity with all Ukrainian citizens during this difficult time.

International money transfers can be a vital channel of support for the victims of geopolitical conflict, and we will make every effort to provide uninterrupted service in Ukraine.*

At Ria, we understand how crucial financial aid is in these difficult times, so we are waiving fees for money transfers to Ukraine and Poland from March 4 to May 27, 2022 from any of our sending countries with all delivery methods and currencies available. We are including Poland since thousands of Ukrainians have fled to the Polish border due to the conflict.

An estimated 7.5 million Ukrainian children are affected by the conflict. In partnership with Save the Children, we will support the organization’s emergency appeal to help Ukrainian children affected by the violence and their families. We will enable our global network of 500,000+ locations in more than 160 countries to collect customer and Ria employee donations for Save the Children’s Ukrainian effort.

In addition, Ria employees and customers can use our global network to send donations in response to the emergency appeal for humanitarian assistance made by the National Bank of Ukraine through May 27, 2022. The Ukrainian authorities’ effort will be coordinated by the country’s Ministry of Social Policy. Donations will go toward providing food, shelter, clothing, and medicine for Ukrainians displaced due to the conflict.

Many members of the Ria family are people who, at some point in their lives, have experienced the stress and insecurity of being forced to leave home to survive. In some cases, that means being far from home. In others, no longer having a home to go to. Ria is a company founded by migrants, to serve migrants so our hearts go out to anyone forced to leave their home due to violence or political or economic pressure.

Prosperity goes hand in hand with peace and with liberty and it is our hope that the current conflict comes to an end as quickly as possible, and that peace is restored in Ukraine soon.
