Venezuela Earthquakes: What Ria is Doing to Help

2 min read

We are with you and your loved ones in Venezuela. Zero-fee transfers make supporting home even easier. Next to the text is a heart featuring the Venezuelan flag, with the ria logo and note about zero fees until July 15, 2026, at the bottom.

On the evening of June 24th, 2026, two magnitude 7 earthquakes shook Venezuela‘s coast near the capital Caracas.

The tremors were the most powerful to hit the country in over a century. The extent of the fallout is still being assessed, with internal and international rescue efforts well underway.

However, the damage is expected to be consequential, as the affected areas are home to 80% of Venezuela’s population. Moreover, hundreds of buildings have already collapsed, damaging crucial infrastructure, disrupting communication services, and leaving countless people without housing and access to essential services.

During this tragedy we stand in close solidarity with the Venezuelan diaspora—an integral part of the Ria community—as they navigate this unimaginable hardship.

That’s why through July 15th, all fees will be waived for transfers to Venezuela across the globe and through all channels.

We understand how difficult it can be to be away from your loved ones when they need you most. We’re here to make sure your support reaches them quickly, securely, and without hurdles—no matter the distance.

Save the Children warns that our youngest require immediate support to access shelter, food, and healthcare. They need to be properly cared for during these difficult times, as many are at risk due to being separated from their families.

Through its teams on the ground and various partners in the affected areas, Save the Children is assessing the most urgent needs, scaling its efforts to provide material and psychosocial support to children and their families. If you’d like to support their efforts, you can donate through their website.

Reach your loved ones in Venezuela at any of our locations, online or through the Ria app.
