Ria Turkey Payment Institution Inc: Addressing the Public

In line with our global strategy, Ria has decided to cancel the license of Ria Turkey Ödeme Kuruluşu A.Ş. and continue our operations in Turkey with licensed business partners.

In this context, Ria requested the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey to revoke Ria Turkey’s license under Law No. 6493.

This decision was driven by Ria’s strategy to align its operations in Turkey with other similar countries in which it operates around the world (countries with a significant net buyer position). In these countries, Ria relies on licensed business partners, including major banks, for payment transactions to customers.

Ria’s licensed entities outside of Turkey will continue to process remittances to Ria’s licensed business partners in Turkey and will operate under the third paragraph of Article 19 of the new Regulation on Payment Services and Electronic Money Issuance and Payment Service Providers.

Payments for transactions will only be made by licensed payment service providers in Turkey.

At Ria, we will continue to provide reliable, easy and fast services to our customers sending money from abroad to their loved ones in Turkey. This is and will remain our top priority.

Ria Turkey Ödeme Kuruluşu A.Ş.: Kamuoyuna Hitaben

Ria Global, küresel stratejimiz çerçevesinde Türkiye’deki faaliyetlerimize Ria Turkey Ödeme Kuruluşu A.Ş. lisansını iptal ederek lisanslı iş ortaklarıyla devam etmeye karar vermiştir.

Bu kapsamda Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası’ndan Türkiye’de Ria Turkey’in 6493 sayılı Kanun kapsamındaki lisansının iptal edilmesi talep edilmiştir.

Ria’nın Türkiye’deki faaliyetlerini dünyada faaliyet gösterdiği diğer benzer ülkelerle (önemli oranda net alıcı konumda olan Ülkeler) uyumlu hâle getirmeye yönelik stratejisi bu kararda belirleyici olmuştur. Ria Global, müşterilere yapılan ödeme işlemleri için büyük bankalar da dâhil olmak üzere lisanslı iş ortaklarına itimat etmektedir.

Ria’nın Türkiye dışındaki lisanslı kuruluşları, Ria’nın Türkiye’deki lisanslı iş ortaklarına havale işlemlerini gerçekleştirmeye devam edecek ve yeni Ödeme Hizmetleri ve Elektronik Para İhracı ile Ödeme Hizmeti Sağlayıcıları Hakkında Yönetmeliğin 19. Maddesinin üçüncü fıkrası kapsamında faaliyet göstereceklerdir.

İşlemlere ilişkin ödemeler yalnızca Türkiye’deki lisanslı ödeme hizmeti sağlayıcıları tarafından yapılacaktır.
