To do a Thailand money transfer online, log in to your account and choose “Send money” or “Send.” Then, select the country you want to send money to — in this case, Thailand. Complete the “You send” field to indicate how much money you’re sending in your home country’s currency. Or fill out the “Recipient gets” field to specify how much your recipient should receive.

Next, decide how you want to deliver the money. You can send money to a digital wallet or your recipient’s bank account. Alternatively, you can set up a cash pickup.

Choose an existing recipient or create a new one to send money to. If adding a new recipient, you must provide their full name, country, city, and state. For a Thailand remittance via bank transfer, you’ll also need their bank name, routing number, and account number.

Finally, pay for the transfer using an accepted payment method, such as a debit card, credit card, bank transfer, or cash. Review the information and send your money.

Sending money to Thailand can take anywhere from a few minutes to five business days. However, it depends on the payment method, time, and origin country.

The fastest way to do a Thailand money transfer is via a debit card, credit card, or cash at a Ria location. This usually takes a few minutes to several hours. Bank account transfers tend to take 3-5 business days.

You can also set up a money transfer via a money transfer agent. How long this takes depends on the agent or company you go through, but it can take up to several days. Or you can send money using an international money order. This takes anywhere from a few days to several weeks, depending on your origin and destination country.

Certain currencies may only be transferred during business hours. If you try to send money during a weekend, public holiday, or outside of local business hours, it might take longer for your recipient to receive the money.

How long does it take to send money to Thailand?

Fees vary based on where you’re sending money from, the payment method, the payout method, and the transfer amount. You can check how much it will cost before or after logging into your Ria account via the app or website. This will give you an estimate of the current rate and any related fees for your transfer.

To check the cost in the app, click “Check price” (or “Send” if you’re already logged in). Then, select Thailand and enter how much you’re sending, your preferred payout currency, payment method, and delivery method. You can also enter a promo code at this time.

Sending money to a recipient’s bank account tends to be cheaper than other methods. The tradeoff is that it may take longer to go through.

How much does it cost to send money to Thailand?

Tracking your transfer is important, so Ria makes it easy for you and your recipient. We have a convenient tool called “Track a Transfer” that provides real-time updates, no matter where you are.

You don’t need an account to use this tool on the website. However, you will need to enter the PIN associated with the transfer. You can find the PIN in your confirmation email and your Ria account if you have one.

If you do have an account, simply log in and select “Track” from the app. Or, if you’re on the Ria website, go to the “Track a transfer.” Then, enter your PIN to view any pending transfers. If you live in Australia, you must provide the recipient’s country and the sender’s date of birth. 

As a sender, you’ll also receive automatic email updates about any notable status changes to your Thailand remittance. If you want your recipient to be able to track the transfer as well, you’ll need to share the transfer details with them. To do this, go to the “Activity” screen on the app or website, select “Transfer Details,” and share the information via text message or email.

•Bank transfer: You can send or receive money via a bank transfer. This might take longer than a direct debit, but it’s also usually cheaper.

You’ll need to provide some information, including your full name, date of birth, a valid email address and password, and a phone number. Sending money to Thailand is convenient and secure, but you will need a few details about your recipient to complete a transfer. These include their:

•First and last name (this must match their government-issued ID)

•Amount to be transferred (including the current exchange rate and related fees)

•Payout method (e.g., bank deposit, cash pickup, digital wallet, or home delivery)

Depending on the payout method, you may also need to provide additional information. For example, a bank deposit typically requires the bank’s name, routing number, and the recipient’s account number.

What information will I need to send money to Thailand?

The process of sending money to Thailand may vary depending on your location. However, setting up your first Thailand remittance is simple if you’re in the USA or Canada.

Once everything’s settled, you must pay for your transfer via the app or website. If you’ve never made a transfer before, you can add a new payment method to your account before sending money. Otherwise, you can use an existing payment method.

After you’ve completed your first transfer, you can send money to an existing recipient without having to reenter all of their information.

How do I set up my first money transfer from the USA or Canada to Thailand?

How do I view my transfer status when sending from the USA or Canada to Thailand?

When you’re living abroad, the last thing you need is to worry about how to receive money quickly and securely while overseas. Fortunately, you have several options available to you.

If you plan to receive money in Thailand, you can do so through a cash transfer. This option lets you pick it up at a Ria location near you. When you pick up your cash, you’ll need to bring your government-issued photo ID and the transfer’s unique PIN. Keep in mind that you’ll also need to be at least 18 years old to send or receive money with Ria.

Which payment methods can I use to pay for my own money transfer to Thailand?

Unfortunately, you cannot use Zelle to send money to Thailand or other countries outside the United States unless you have a US phone number and bank account. You also cannot use Zelle with any debit or credit cards linked to an international bank account.
