What is a Ria Prepaid Card?
Ria Mastercard is a prepaid card that is linked to your Ria Wallet balance. This card can be used nationwide and worldwide for ATM withdrawals, in-store and online payments.
How do I apply for a Ria Prepaid Card?
You can apply for a Ria Prepaid Card if you have successfully completed your KYC and are above the age of 18. You have 2 options to request a physical Ria prepaid card:
Apply via Ria Wallet app. Your card will be delivered to the provided address in 5 – 7 business days.
Walk into any Ria store and request a card. You will receive the card at the store.
*Note: Every Ria wallet user is entitled to one (1) physical card and one (1) virtual card at a time.
Are there any fees for a Ria Prepaid Card?
Yes, there will be a one-off physical card issuance fee of RM10.00 and no fees for virtual card issuance. Here are the details for applied fees:
Physical Card Issuance: RM10
Physical Card Replacement: RM10
Annual Fee: None
ATM Fee (Domestic): RM1.00
ATM Fee (International): RM10.00
POS (International): 1.25% of purchase items
How do I track the delivery status of my card?
You will receive a notification on your Ria app once Ria receives the card request and assigns it to your account. Delivery will take 5 – 7 business days.
If delivery is unsuccessful, our logistic partner will re-attempt the delivery of the card, failing in which the card will be returned to Ria.

Can I use my card immediately after receiving it?
You must activate your card in the Ria app before using it.
How do I activate my Ria Prepaid Card?
Once you receive your Ria physical card:
Login to your Ria app
Click on “Activate” option on your home screen
Enter the 3-digit CVV code printed at the back of your physical card
Create your 6-digit ATM pin
Note: To activate tap and pay payments, you’ll first need to make an in-person transaction using chip and PIN.
I received a faulty card, what should I do?
You have 2 options to request for a replacement:
Contact Ria Customer Care line to report this issue and request a new card to be delivered
Walk into a Ria store to request a card replacement
What is the difference between Ria Wallet passcode and Ria Prepaid Card Pin?
Ria Wallet passcode:
To make payments using Ria app
For card management
Ria Prepaid Card pin:

Where can I view my card details?
Login to your Ria app
Click on “Card” function
Click on “Manage” on your physical card or virtual card to update your card settings
Card details are hidden for security purposes. Click on “See details” on the top right of the card and enter your 6-digit wallet passcode
Can I change my Ria Prepaid Card pin?
Yes, you can change your card pin in the Ria app.
Do I have to top up my Ria Prepaid Card?
No, your prepaid card balance is linked to your Ria wallet balance.
Can I use my physical Ria Prepaid Card to perform contactless payments?
Contactless feature enables customers to make an in-store purchase by tapping their card on the contactless reader. You don’t need to enter your Card Pin in a contactless transaction if the amount is RM250 or below.
Note: To activate contactless payments, you’ll first need to make an in-person transaction using chip and PIN.
Where can I use my Ria Prepaid Card?
Customers can use their Ria Prepaid cards for all the services like a bank debit card. You can use it anywhere Mastercard is accepted, both online and offline.
Where can I view my Ria Prepaid Card transaction history?
All transactions performed using your Ria Prepaid Card will be available within Ria app.
Is there a spending limits on Ria Prepaid Card transactions?
Yes, daily and monthly limits are applied.

Can I use my Ria Prepaid Card overseas?
Yes, you can use your card overseas* at any store and ATM that accepts Mastercard payments. You can enable/disable your international payments function in the settling.

A small fee will be charged for overseas transactions:
ATM Fee (International): RM10.00
POS (International): 1.25% of purchase items
Can I use my Ria Prepaid Card for subscriptions or recurring payments? How do I cancel the subscription?
Yes, the Ria Prepaid Card supports recurring payments and subscription plans such as Netflix or Spotify.
To cancel a subscription service, kindly contact the merchant directly.
Can I add my Ria Prepaid Card into Apple Pay, Google Play or Samsung Play?
Yes, you can add your Ria Prepaid Card to these platforms.
Why is there a hold amount in my wallet?
When you use your Ria Prepaid Card at certain merchants, they may place a temporary hold on your funds to ensure payments.
This is a temporary hold on your wallet balance for pending card transactions. The funds will be released once the merchant finalizes or cancels the charges.
How long does it take for the hold amount to be released?
The hold amount for general merchants typical takes up to 7 business days to be released, and some merchants may take up to 40 days. If merchant fails to finalize the amount within the timeframe, the amount will be auto release back into your wallet balance.
Can I still spend my wallet balance if part of the hold amount?
Yes, you can only spend the available balance (excluding hold amount) in your wallet balance.
Why am I being charged more for petrol transaction?
Petrol transactions require a pre-authorization amount from your Ria wallet balance and any unused amount will be refunded after the transaction has been settled.
I was charged but the transaction failed. What should I do?
If you did not receive the refunds within 24 hours, kindly contact Ria Customer Support line to report this issue. Investigation with merchant typically take up to 45 days.
How are refunds processed to my Ria Prepaid Card?
Merchants typically initiate refunds back to your card immediately. However, there may be instances where the process may take up to 7 business days, depending on the merchant and bank.
I have a transaction related issue that is not listed here. What should I do?

Can I withdraw cash using my Ria Prepaid Card?
Yes, you can withdraw your cash at any ATM nationwide or worldwide (subjected to the daily and monthly ATM limit). Fees and charges will be applied.
What should I do if the ATM did not return my Ria Prepaid Card?
Kindly contact the ATM support line to identify the issue
You will have to initiate a card replacement in the Ria app for new card delivery
I was charged but the ATM did not dispense cash. What should I do?
Contact the ATM support line immediately
Kindly contact Ria Customer Care line if there is no response from the ATM support line. Investigations may take up to 40 days depending on ATM network.
What should I do if I notice my card is being used for unauthorized transaction?
Freeze your card immediately using the “Lock Card” function in the card settings. You will receive a push notification* that your card has been temporarily blocked. Contact Ria Customer Care line to report the suspicious transactions.
You will have the option to unlock your card in the card settings at any given time.
*Note: You will only receive push notification on your app if it’s being enabled.
My card is lost/stolen. What should I do?
Freeze your card immediately using the “Lock Card” function in the card settings. You will receive a push notification* that your card has been temporarily blocked.
Request for a card replacement in card settings. A replacement fee of RM10.00 applies
Will my card number change after card replacement?
Yes, your new Ria prepaid card will have a different card series number.
Will my wallet balance be affected if I change a new Ria Prepaid Card
No, your funds remain in your wallet balance and will be accessible for card payments once the new card is activated.
