Lithuanian License
What you need to know about switching to our Lithuanian license
Nothing is more important to us than ensuring that Ria money transfer works as well as possible for you. To ensure that you and the rest of our European customers are not affected by Brexit, we are migrating non-UK customers from our UK money transfer license to the EU license in Lithuania. This transition will take place by December 31, 2020.
But what does it mean to you?
Well, not much, actually. Nothing will change the way you use Ria Money Transfer, but we wanted to answer a few questions to be completely transparent.
Why is Ria transferring my account to a European company?
We're migrating your account to ensure you can still send money with Ria to other European countries. With the UK leaving the European Union, many companies like ours, which used UK licenses as a basis for Europe, must now transfer their clients to an active license within the EU. This is mostly behind-the-scenes paperwork, so we can continue to provide you with the best service.
What will happen to my account when it is migrated?
Instead of being associated with our UK entity, it will now be part of our Lithuanian money transfer license. You won't see any difference in how you use your account with the Ria Money Transfer app or website. Your data and money will be protected in the same secure manner. However, we will need to transfer your personal data. Further communications on this matter are expected.
Why can't I send money with my driver's license anymore?
Local Lithuanian regulations require all customers to use a passport, residence permit, or national identity card for financial transactions. Uploading a new ID with OnFido's identity verification takes just a few minutes!
I uploaded a new valid ID to OnFido as requested, but I haven't received any verification status information. What's the reason for the delay?
Depending on photo quality and other factors, it sometimes takes a little longer to verify customer identities. If you encounter any issues with this process, our team will be happy to assist you.
Are there any new Terms and Conditions?
Yes, but the changes are minor. To continue using our services, you must accept both the updated Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. You will be asked to accept them when you open the app.
Will my account data be shared with Lithuanian authorities?
We will only share data required by law.
For any further questions, please feel free to contact our customer service. Thank you for taking the time to help us migrate your account, and we appreciate your continued trust in Ria.
